Molly Hazlett, Miss Woodlands 2006 is a 19 year old Freshman at Sam Houston State University. She is currently studying medicine with a specialization in pediatrics.Molly has owned her own dance studio in Centerville for 4 years where she teaches 40 little girls how do tap,jazz, ballet, hip hop, and pointe. She performed in the Off-Broadway production "Slide" in New York City and has performed with the Ballet Dallas the "Nutcracker" and the St. Louis ballet the "Nutcracker." Molly enjoys dancing, spending time with her family, and spending time with her "little girls." Her platform is "Just say No" Drug Education in school. She has spent the last 10 years promoting her platform and has spoken to approximately 12,000 students throughout that time. She emphasizes the importance of drug awareness, bullying, alcohol abuse, smoking, tobacco use, and sexual harassment. She incorporates the students by picking two children from each grade to train them to be "spokespersons" in their grades. Molly teaches them skits and songs that easily relate to their peers in a way that they understand the message that is being stressed. The troupe then performs for in a school assembly. Molly plans to travel around the Woodlands area and reach out to the students who need to be aware of the dangers of drugs, alcohol, smoking, tobacco, bullying, and sexual harassment! She has an exciting year ahead of her!
